Troubleshooting -
Control Circuits
| This award winning electrical training program builds on the Basic Techniques program. Here, you will troubleshoot a complex control circuit consisting of numerous relays, switches, lights, and solenoids. You will need to use elementary wiring and connection wiring diagrams to troubleshoot 28 faults of varying difficulty. The program contains sections to describe how the circuit works as well as how to use the troubleshooting tools. The program evaluates the time and money spent to solve the fault, gneerates a score, and records all the steps performed to solve the fault. This can be used for later analysis of your troubleshooting approach. |

Features
- Highly realistic simulation - The simulation behaves as the real circuit would. You can remove wires, operate any controls, and the circuit will behave appropriately. This is a true simulation!
- Realistic Tools. While using Troubleshooting - Control Circuits you are able to perform virtually every operation used on real equipment including:
- operating the circuit
- locking out the circuit
- taking voltage and resistance readings
- opening connections
- replacing components and wiring
- using the observe feature you can even check for visual or other clues to the cause of the fault
- A fully simulated door lock circuit is available to practice your troubleshooting skills.
- Schematics and wiring diagrams can be viewed on screen or printed out to help you understand the circuit and eventually track down problem areas to solve faults.
- A section is included to guide you through the troubleshooting process using three sample faults.
- Twenty-eight faults are available to solve with various levels of difficulty. This electrical training program evaluates your performance by tracking time and dollars spent to repair the fault.
- Fault packs are available to add even more faults to the program.
- An evaluation system determines your troubleshooting score and provides feedback on your troubleshooting approach.
- An automatic reporting system is also included which generates various reports from summary reports to detailed fault attempt reports.
- Adminstration tools and program guides are available for Instructors.

Introduction
- The introduction describes the various sections of the program and provides suggestions for working through them.
Troubleshooting Safety
- This section covers key safety precautions for troubleshooting electrical equipment.
How the Circuit Works
- Animations and narrations are used to show how the door lock circuit used in the simulation works, including the functions of the components.
Troubleshooting the Circuit
- This section describes how to take meter readings, remove wires, lockout the equipment, etc. within the simulation.
Develop Your Skill
- Here you will have the opportunity to operate the circuit while it is functioning normally. In this section, the program will guide you through three sample faults where you will answer questions, make observations, operate the circuit, take meter readings and repair the circuit.
Test Your Skill
- The Test Your Skill section will allow you to troubleshoot faults on your own. Here your progress will be evaluated and feedback given for each fault attempt. You will also receive a score for each fault completed.
