The Western Electrical Contractors Association (WECA), a Chapter of Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) is a state-wide, non-profit organization that offers federal- and state-approved apprenticeship programs as well as continuing education for contractors and exam preparation classes for journeymen pursuing state certification in the State of California. They also offer a state-approved Electrician Trainee Program.
WECA incorporated Simutech's Troubleshooting Skills Series into their apprenticeship programs, created a remote advanced standalone course for certified journeymen students to renew their certification, and also incorporated them into three remote "blended learning" courses for journeymen or electrician trainees.
The Troubleshooting Skills Series has helped WECA provide safe and effective hands-on training that targets the troubleshooting competencies. The software has also has allowed WECA to offer the flexibility of distance hands-on troubleshooting training, allowing their students to develop troubleshooting skills on their own schedule and without compromising the quality of their training.
